Home Automation, Inc. (HAI), leading manufacturer of integrated security

and home automation products since 1985, announced today that Black &

Decker has partnered with HAI to ensure seamless integration of their

upcoming residential access control solutions.

These cutting-edge electronic motorized locks - developed for

interoperability with home automation and security systems like HAI -

deliver a wide-range of customizable access control options. Black &

Decker's unique electronic motorized lock throws the bolt and provides

the ability to lock and unlock doors via HAI's OmniTouch Touchscreens,

consoles and keyfobs.  Further, HAI's secure remote access software

facilitates control from a computer, Smartphone, iPhone, BlackBerry,

etc.

HAI will discuss the new integration during its "Access Control and

Automation" trainings to be held April 1st and 2nd, 2009, in conjunction

with the International Security Conference (ISC-West) in Las Vegas,

Nevada.  Additionally, Black & Decker will be demonstrating the

integration in ISC Booth 2086, April 1-3, 2009.

"The HAI and Black & Decker partnership applies new meaning to the

phrase, 'Peace of mind,'" explains HAI President, Jay McLellan.  "For

the first time, you can know that a door is actually locked, and not

just closed."

Black & Decker's residential access control solutions feature two-way

functionality where the door lock can directly control HAI security and

automation functions, and vice versa. Homeowners can arm the home

security system when the door is locked and disarm the system when the

door is unlocked. Likewise, HAI systems can be configured to

automatically set lighting, music and temperature based on the code used

to unlock the door.

Intended for use in new home construction or retrofits, Black & Decker

will utilize ZigBee(r) and Z-Wave(r) wireless protocols for the

Baldwin(r) and Kwikset(r) home door lock brands.

"Over the last few years, it has become clear to us that the home

security business is on the cusp of a major shift toward even greater

integration between home security and home automation", said Jason

Williams, senior product manager, Black & Decker Hardware Home

Improvement. "This new technology from Black & Decker allows us to

further develop the 'smart home' and advance the way we live and manage

our busy lives."

HAI products are available through a worldwide network of Distributors

and installing dealers in over 80 countries.  For more information on
