UTC opens Alaska office focused on fire detection

Defense contractor United Technologies Corp. opened a satellite office in Alaska for its Detection Logic Fire Protection unit in a strategic expansion.
United Technologies says its Detection Logic Fire Protection, part of the company's UTC Fire and Security division, opened its new facility in Anchorage, Alaska, in an effort to support the expansion moves of its customer base into the Alaskan market. Prior to the announced opening of a satellite office in Alaska, Detection Logic Fire Protection was working to address life safety, fire detection and protection system requirements from the company's office in Seattle.
"Many of our customers out of our Washington office have looked to us for support as they expand and do business in Alaska, so opening a branch here will help us meet this increase in demand," Jerry Woods, Detection Logic Alaska branch sales manager, said in a statement.
