The ASIS Foundation, a charitable organization that provides funding for a host of academic, strategic and professional development projects, announced this week the release of several new Connecting Research in Security to Practice (CRISP) reports.

The new CRISP reports cover a variety of security issues including preventing burglary in commercial and institutional settings; the problems created by lost laptops; and, the effects of workplace dishonesty.

"Preventing Burglary in Commercial and Institutional Settings: A Place Management and Partnerships Approach," was written by Tim Prenzler and examines how to assess, manage and respond to burglaries that occur at commercial and industrial sites. The CRISP report, "Lost Laptops = Lost Data: Measuring Costs, Managing Threats," was authored by Glen Kitteringham, CPP, and looks at the internal and external factors that contribute to laptop theft. Finally, the report "Strategies to Detect and Prevent Workplace Dishonesty," written by Read Hayes, provides strategies on how to reduce counterproductive workplace behaviors, such as theft and other types of fraud.
