Accepted Formats for Banners
.gif .jpg .swf
As you may know, the most widely supported web image graphic formats are GIF and JPEG. This may add to you confusion--when should .GIF and when should .JPEG be used?
The easy rule to remember:
- Use GIF format with graphics that you have created on your computer such as horizontal rules, buttons, or animation.
- Use JPEG format when the images are scanned pictures or photographs.

Flash Banners
All rich media ads are tested on a matrix of browsers and platforms before posting. This process requires a MINIMUM of FIVE business days to test rich media for performance, stability & compatibility.
General Information/Requirements
- Flash advertising is not available in e-mail newsletters or blasts at this time.
- Animation should last no longer than 15 seconds and loop a maximum of three times.
- Flash Movies kept below 24 FPS, Target="_blank" is required in "basic actions" to ensure click-thru opens a new window
- FLASH FILES MUST BE SAVED AS - FLASH 7, OR 8, NOT FLASH 9. THE REASON FOR THIS IS THAT INTERNET EXPLORER 7.0 IS HAVING DIFFICULTIES DISPLAYING FLASH FILES THAT ARE SAVED AS FLASH 9. Microsoft is working with Adobe to fix this issue.
The clickTAG is the tracking code assigned by the ad serving network to an individual ad. The clickTAG allows the network to register where the ad was displayed when it was clicked on. This click through data is reported to the ad serving servers so advertisers may determine the effectiveness of their campaign.
Clients must include the following for proper tracking:
- .SWF File with clickTag information (URL's need to be supplied via email)
- GIF/JPG provided as back-up
- clickTAG code must be embedded in .SWF file
