"Things to Consider" When Designing eBlasts

1. Write a Succinct Subject Line
The subject line is one of the most important elements of successful email marketing. Think of the subject line as the purest distillation of your email marketing message. If you understand what motivates your target audience,  you have a good chance of getting a click.
(shoot for 3 to 4 words)

- Be direct and matter-of-fact
- Stress benefits to the recipient
- Ask a question that pulls in the reader
- Tease the reader so he or she has to click to learn more
- Tie into current events

2. Above the Fold
When designing your e-mails, make sure you position your logo, and other important information above the fold. Use the top of your page wisely. You might want to include the logo or anything that will represent your branding image in this location. Don't make a user scroll down your email to find out "who" is sending this message. If you don't have your company name in the subject line, it's essential that you present yourself in the email body very early on. These factors will increase your open-rate percentages.

3. Call To Action

Include a CTA.  Tell them what you want them to do (go to a website where they can find out more details, fill out a form or send in an order) and ask them to do it. Make it easy for people to respond. People on the Internet tend to have short attention spans. Give them a compelling reason to visit your site.
