WatchGuard acquires BorderWare Technologies

Acquisition to allow company access to new markets, business environments and channel partners

SEATTLE, Aug. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- WatchGuard Technologies, a global leader in extensible network security and connectivity solutions, today announced that it is acquiring privately-held BorderWare Technologies of Toronto, Canada. BorderWare Technologies is a leading e-mail and Web security content and threat management platform provider for mid-sized enterprises, government and service providers.

No immediate changes will be made to BorderWare product offerings, customer support and channel programs. Future new products from WatchGuard or BorderWare will be announced upon their availability.

Both WatchGuard Technologies and BorderWare Technologies are privately held. Terms of the acquisition are not being disclosed. BorderWare was founded in 1994 and has 90 employees.
