A non-conventional approach to mitigating workplace violence

How discerning between primal and cognitive aggression could potentially prevent conflict before it occurs

Before you dismiss Byrnes’ assertions, his out-of-the-box approach to managing employee violence has attracted the attention of not only the private sector, but government agencies as well. He has conducted seminars and workshops for some of our country’s largest corporations, organizations and schools, including the United States Post Service, NASA, Disney Development Company, Florida Hospitals, U.S. Army Center for Civilian Human Resource Management and the Department for Safe Schools Center, to name just a few.

Byrnes stresses that his concept is simple: "We have set up a systematic method that helps your organization to be proactive instead of reactive," he says. "Knowing the profile characteristics of aggressive behaviors can mean the difference between preventing an incident or cleaning up afterwards."
