Aug. 9, 2007

ANNAPOLIS, Md ., Aug. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- RiskWatch and Priority 5 recently received a contract from the Department of Defense, to create a prototype of the Knowledge Display and Aggregation System (KDAS) a new technology, a touch screen visualization tool that will bring RiskWatch data into the heart of emergency management. The unique product not only identifies key structures, including the availability and location of police stations, government industrial base, hospitals, and power stations (to name a few), but also integrates the RiskWatch risk assessment data for detailed asset inventories to create a real time decision support tool.

This solution involves the use of advanced visualization techniques, and incorporates Priority 5's Touch Assisted Command and Control technology and the CIMS(C) (Critical Infrastructure Modeling System) framework for infrastructure interdependency modeling and analysis developed by Idaho National Laboratory. Asset data from both proprietary and public domain databases can be displayed, to fully model any potential or real national emergency.

Priority 5's President & CEO, Chuck Miller commented, "The addition of RiskWatch software to Priority 5's Touch Assisted Command and Control System (TACCS) provides users with a state of the art methodology to assess the impact of natural disasters and terrorist events on the viability of key assets."

"TACCS provides RiskWatch users with a way to perform near real-time updates to readiness assessments as conditions change," said Caroline Hamilton , President and CEO of RiskWatch, Inc. "The hands-on graphical interface combined with the overlay of actual asset data, gives emergency planners and first responders an incredible tool to understand the progression and recovery from any event."
