Lockheed Martin Advances Biometrics Portfolio Through Cooperation Agreement With Cognitec

GAITHERSBURG, Md., Dec. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] further advanced its capabilities and offerings in biometrics solutions through a cooperation agreement with Cognitec Systems, a leader in facial recognition technology. The Cognitec agreement will enable closer cooperation between the two companies in the rapidly growing marketplace for biometrics solutions.

A leader in biometrics solutions, Lockheed Martin focuses on integrating a full spectrum of biometrics technologies into a cohesive, service-oriented architecture. That integration allows customers to incorporate multiple biometrics techniques -- including fingerprint, facial and iris scanning -- into their operations. The result is a more complete and reliable biometrics solution that quickly and accurately recognizes persons of interest. In May, the corporation opened its Biometric Experimentation and Advanced Concepts (BEACON) facility in White Hall, WV, to serve as a collaborative center to develop integrated biometrics solutions.
