WASHINGTON, July 30 /PRNewswire/ -- ICx Technologies, a developer of advanced technology solutions for homeland and military security, announced today that Ken Rapuano has joined the company as President of Homeland Security. In this role, Rapuano will help guide ICx as it seeks to maximize the security potential of technology and bridge the capability gaps involved in addressing current and emerging threats.
Rapuano served in the White House as Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy Homeland Security Advisor, and joins ICx following deployment as a U.S. Marine Corps Reserve intelligence officer in Afghanistan serving as part of a Joint Special Operations Task Force targeting high-value terrorist leaders. Before his tenure in the White House, Rapuano was Deputy Undersecretary for Counterterrorism at the U.S. Department of Energy where he oversaw counterterrorism, homeland security and nuclear emergency response programs and activities. Previous to that, he was deployed on voluntary active duty in Iraq in 2003. Rapuano has also served as National Security Advisor to the Secretary of Energy, and supported the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Office of the Secretary of Defense in the development of national security and arms control policies related to weapons of mass destruction.
Rapuano received a bachelor's degree in Political Science from Middlebury College, and a master's degree in National Security Studies from Georgetown University.
