DALLAS , Dec. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- CREDANT Technologies, the market leader in mobile data protection solutions, today announced it has appointed Peter Morrison vice president of North American sales. Morrison previously served as CREDANT's director of federal sales. In his new position, Morrison will guide the company's North American sales force and field operations, and will continue to help broaden CREDANT's footprint in all markets, including commercial, financial, healthcare, and government.
Morrison will focus on growing the North American sales team to support the data protection needs of companies ranging from the Fortune 500 to small and medium businesses (SMBs) as they tackle the critical issue of protecting their organizations' data. He will report to Darryll Dewan, executive vice president of global sales and field operations.

While serving as CREDANT's director of federal sales, Morrison helped government agencies such as the U.S. Army, the Department of Homeland Security, and the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) address new federal data protection regulations.
Prior to joining CREDANT Technologies, Morrison was a director of sales for Netegrity, before its sale to Computer Associates. In that role, he managed relationships with Verizon, Bell South , Nextel, and others. Later, he served as vice president of sales for the public sector, securing as customers the USDA, Department of Treasury, IRS, DISA, Department of Homeland Security, and U.S. Army. Earlier in his career, Morrison held various marketing and sales management positions at SpaceWorks Inc., GTE Government Systems, Worldtalk Corporation, and SoftSwitch Inc.
