TSA Names Penny J. Anderson as Federal Security Director for Gerald R. Ford International Airport

GRAND RAPIDS , Mich., July 18 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has named Penny J. Anderson federal security director (FSD) for Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR).

Anderson has been with TSA since 2005 and most recently served as TSA Representative in Sydney, Australia . In this position, she acted as TSA's primary liaison to foreign governments and stakeholders. Additionally, she worked closely with the U.S. Ambassador's Office and embassy personnel on transportation security issues.

"Penny Anderson's years of transportation security experience make her uniquely qualified to be a federal security director," said Mo McGowan, TSA's assistant administrator for security operations. "Her vast knowledge of both domestic and international transportation security operations is a vital asset to TSA and will serve her well as she undertakes her new duties."

Prior to joining TSA, Anderson spent twelve years with the Federal Aviation Administration in a variety of security-related positions. She also worked for two years as chief of the Aviation Security Audit Section at the International Civil Aviation Organization. Anderson holds a Master of Education degree from National Louis University, as well as an undergraduate degree in security management from St. John's University.

She replaces John Mumma , who was recently selected as a TSA senior field executive.
