ICx Transportation, a business unit of ICx Technologies and developer of Intelligent Transportation Systems, will provide enhanced technologies for the expanded Managed Lanes section of the I-15 corridor, a four-lane car pool (HOV) facility occupying the freeway median along I-15 in San Diego -- allowing the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) to dynamically adjust roadway capacity to match travel demands and emergency conditions.
ICx will include the integration of its Cameleon Intelligent Traffic System, which is advanced control software for supporting lane control systems, dynamic message signs and video control capability. ICx will also handle the customization of roadway detection, closed-circuit television, electronic pop-up traffic control and roadway entry gates.
