ViaLogy Technology Integrated into New Cisco Open Platform for Safety and Security

April 1, 2008

PASADENA , Calif., April 1, 2008 /PRNewswire/ -- ViaLogy LLC ("ViaLogy") announces its technology is being integrated into the Cisco Open Platform for Safety and Security (COPSS), the new Cisco technology platform launched today at the annual FOSE 2008 industry trade show. The Cisco Open Platform for Safety and Security is a secure, intelligent, converged solution intended for multiple surveillance and alert applications to support the growing needs of defense, civilian, public safety, state and local government agencies. It is to be offered by Cisco to public sector organizations on a worldwide basis.

As a core member of the solution team, ViaLogy will provide the sensor integration engine for the platform. ViaLogy's SPM(TM) (Sensor Policy Manager) software enables disparate sensors in very large enterprise networks to process and report only key events of interest to security personnel. The ViaLogy technology is sensor agnostic and considerably enhances the performance and strength of all integrated legacy and IP sensors, thus avoiding false alarms, missed events and optimizing use of limited bandwidth. ViaLogy's SPM(TM) is an integral part of the Cisco Open Platform for Safety and Security demonstration -- and available for viewing -- at Cisco's Center of Excellence in Herndon, Virginia.

"We are pleased to be working with ViaLogy as part of our go-to-market team for the Cisco Open Platform for Safety and Security," said Bruce Klein , Cisco's federal vice president. "Our strategy is to pull together an 'ecosystem' of the leading companies with expertise in protecting citizens, employees and critical assets to provide the most comprehensive solution for facilitating collaboration for government agencies. ViaLogy delivers a critical piece of our overall technology platform."

"Cisco has developed the Cisco Open Platform for Safety and Security to answer a worldwide requirement from customers for improved and coordinated integrated safety and security systems," said Robert W. Dean. President and CEO of ViaLogy, "We are proud to be chosen as an approved supplier to the platform."

"SPM(TM) is a comprehensive and flexible product that can be customised to suit individual customer needs because we recognise that there are a variety of situations to be dealt with. Some customers will want a complete system for securing or monitoring a new building or area, others will want the overall integration of existing and new security arrangements.

"The Cisco Open Platform for Safety and Security will give common operational picture vigilance of all aspects of security, faster situation assessment, automated decision making and improved response time."

ViaLogy has been closely involved in the development of an Improved Decision Support System for disparate sensors. As the Department of Defense drives convergence of physical security, consequence management and Chemical, Biological, Radiological/Nuclear, and Explosive (CBRNE) incidents to ensure safety of military bases, scaleable network-centric technologies and IT products are becoming increasingly important. ViaLogy has demonstrated its successes over the past year during multiple Department of Defense demonstrations that continually monitored and reported on CBRNE sensors in realistic scenarios. ViaLogy's SPM(TM) technology flawlessly linked all critical sensors to enable automatic time alerts to the right person. This sensor integration and interoperability capability will be a critical factor in next generation networked emergency alert systems.
