DEMO Applauds Past Demonstrators' Successes

SOUTHBOROUGH, Mass., Nov. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- The annual DEMOfall conference closed last month to a packed crowd of industry influencers, having witnessed the launch of 69 important new technologies into the marketplace. Taking place twice each year, the DEMO technology conferences showcase the most compelling new products from across the spectrum of the IT market.

In September and October, several past demonstrator companies announced impressive new milestones, including:

-- VMware (DEMO 1999 and DEMO 2003), maker of server and desktop virtualization software, disclosed the results of its initial public offering. VMware raised just over $1 billion from sales of Class A stock in its IPO and $218.3 million for the sale of stock to Intel prior to the IPO. VMware's sales in the quarter ended September 30 were $357.8 million, up 90 percent from a year ago. VMware is one of the fastest growing software companies of all time. -- Eloqua Corp. (DEMO 2004), which supplies automated demand generation applications for business-to-business marketers, recently announced $23 million in Series C funding. Eloqua says it will use the money to support the company's "rapid customer growth, extend its worldwide adoption, ... and to continue innovating for current customers across a range of vertical markets and industries." -- Wireless mesh network vendor Firetide (DEMOmobile 2003) recently announced securing $14.4 million in Series D financing. The company says it will use the funds to "further its global business strategy and to respond to growing market demand for its real-time video surveillance and mobile infrastructure solutions." -- Voltage Security (DEMO 2004) recently announced raising $12 million in Series D financing. The company said the new funds "will drive further investment in new product development, as well as fund supporting sales and marketing initiatives." Voltage Security offers a security-as-a-service solution that provides information encryption in a subscription-based pricing model. -- Zink Imaging (DEMO 07) has raised $25 million for its inkless printing technology. Zink completed its purchase of Konica Minolta's manufacturing facility in North Carolina in July, which will enable Zink to speed up production of paper for its print process. -- 4INFO (DEMOfall 2006) announced the launch of its expanded free text message service for NFL scores, teams and player statistics. The service gives college and pro football fans the chance to receive alerts on their cell phones, including game scores, team schedules, possessions, ball location, down and distance, turnovers and player standings. -- Zoho (DEMO 2007) stepped confidently into the enterprise software market with the beta launch of its Zoho Business suite of online office applications. Zoho's Business offering includes domain management, an admin console, multi-tiered security privileges, remote back-up and phone support. -- EverEZ Systems Limited, which launched EverDesk Optima at DEMOfall 2005, was awarded a U.S. patent for its integrated email and file management system. EverDesk Optima makes the process of managing, searching for, and finding files more efficient and flexible by providing a single organizational structure for all types of files, including emails.

October also saw the introduction of DEMO Germany . Produced by IDG Germany , the event launched 20 new technology innovations into the European marketplace.
