CAMBRIDGE, England and SAN FRANCISCO, California , June 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Autonomy Corporation plc (LSE: AU. or AU.L), a global leader in infrastructure software for the enterprise today announced that the Bibliotheque Municipale de Lyon , the second largest library in France , has selected Autonomy's Pan-Enterprise Search technology to improve its online information system. The results, ranked by relevancy, will be presented alongside a summary to enable users to locate the most important information even faster, whilst alerting them to documents that they might otherwise have overlooked.

"We pride ourselves in presenting such a wealth of information to our users and Autonomy will fundamentally change the way our visitors and employees are able to locate and interact with that information," said Patrick Bazin , general director at the Bibliotheque Municipale de Lyon . This system will inform them instantly when new related content is posted or a new subject is introduced. By actively encouraging interactions between readers and librarians, the "Guichet du Savoir" will help to significantly improve the exchange of information, creating an active online community for the Bibliotheque Municipale de Lyon .

"Finding the right piece of information in the archives of any public library can be a frustrating and time-consuming process, especially so in a library as large as the Bibliotheque Municipale de Lyon ," commented Mike Lynch , CEO of Autonomy.
