Sept. 25, 2007

LAS VEGAS , ASIS, Sept. 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- OmniVision Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: OVTI), a leading independent supplier of CMOS CameraChip(TM) image sensors for high-volume applications, today announced that its OV7725 VGA image sensors are being used by Fitivision Technology Inc., a leading Taiwanese OEM/ODM, in the CS-1000 series of high-performance IP cameras. The CS-1000 series, which incorporates eight different camera designs, is already in production and shipping to a number of OEM/ODM partners under various brand names.

The CS-1000 series of wired and wireless IP cameras is designed to serve the 'small office home office' (SOHO) market with high performance, low-cost digital surveillance solutions. The cameras feature simultaneous triple stream dual CODEC Motion JPEG (MJPEG) and MPEG4 video compression with a maximum video resolution of 640 x 480 pixels at 30 FPS. The CS-1000 series operates independently of a PC and contains a built-in web server, enabling users to access live images from anywhere in the world via the Internet and 3G mobile devices.

"The retail SOHO market for security solutions is extremely competitive," commented Lawrence Law , Marketing Director at Fitivision. "In order to be successful, you have to be fast to market with a high-performance, cost effective solution. We selected OmniVision because the OV7725 offered superior performance in varying light conditions, high sensitivity for low-light operation and low power consumption. In addition, OmniVision's complete design kit reference and first class engineering services allowed us to complete the design of the CS1000 series and begin mass production ahead of schedule."

"OmniVision is already working with Fitivision on the development of future generations of security camera products," added Jason Wang , Senior Product Marketing Manager at OmniVision. "We are delighted that our extensive product portfolio, customer support and global production capacity is assisting Fitivision to develop innovative solutions to serve the growing SOHO market for security solutions."

The OV7725 is a 1/4-inch VGA CameraChip sensor built on OmniVision's proprietary OmniPixel2(TM) technology for unparalleled performance in low-light conditions, which is an extremely important factor for today's security applications. The OV7725 can operate at 60 frames per second in VGA resolution.
