VIASPACE Security Signs Teaming Agreement With DMT for Radar Surveillance System

Sept. 12, 2007

PASADENA , Calif., Sept. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- VIASPACE Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: VSPC), a company that transforms proven space and defense technologies from NASA and the Department of Defense into hardware and software solutions, announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary VIASPACE Security has entered into a teaming agreement with Detection Monitoring Technologies (DMT) of Sterling, Virginia.

DMT is a global leader in providing complete radar security solutions. The DMT Area Intrusion Monitoring System (AIMS) family of radar security surveillance solutions was developed for wide area facility, waterside, base, and border security applications. Intruders into borders, ports, harbors, and other high value installations such as military bases and oil refineries can be detected, located, and tracked at distances of up to five kilometers. The AIMS system is currently installed world-wide as an integral part of national and border patrol defenses. DMT has government, defense contractor and commercial customers in the US and globally.

The AIMS system is based on an X-Band pulsed Doppler radar using advanced detection algorithms designed specifically to detect targets representing intrusion threats under wide area perimeter surveillance. The radar has been integrated with visible and infrared cameras as well. VIASPACE Security plans to leverage its expertise in sensor fusion and real time expert systems to provide software upgrades to enhance performance of the AIMS system, as well as to integrate it with other sensor technology extending both its functionality and capabilities as a fully integrated perimeter security monitoring solution.

VIASPACE CEO Carl Kukkonen stated, "We are delighted to have this teaming agreement with DMT. They have a proven hardware and software security solution. The DMT surveillance system is an ideal multi-sensor platform to leverage our proprietary SHINE (Spacecraft Health INference Engine) inference engine and real time sensor fusion software technology. Our intelligent software should provide significant enhancements to increase the performance of the system, while reducing the need for human operators and therefore reducing costs. We expect that this will lead to many promising future business opportunities"
