WASHINGTON, Sept. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- ICx Technologies, a developer of advanced technology solutions for homeland and military security, announced today that it has secured three new contract wins with the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) for the delivery of its Fido(R) handheld explosive detection systems.

Fido, developed by the company's Explosives Detection business unit, is a portable, ultra sensitive detector that utilizes amplifying fluorescence polymers (AFP) to detect trace levels of explosive materials. Weighing just three pounds, Fido is available in both hand-held and robot-mounted systems.
