Sept. 5, 2007

NEW YORK, Sept. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- IDO Security Inc., (OTC Bulletin Board: IDOI) a provider of innovative solutions for the homeland security market including the MagShoe(TM) high speed shoes-on portable footwear weapons detection system, today announced that John P. Mitola has been appointed to the board of directors.

"John's experience as Chairman of the Illinois Toll Highway Authority, where he oversees one of the largest transportation agencies in North America , brings us an individual who has achieved spectacular success in initiating change that turned a hidebound bureaucracy into a customer focused service organization that has become famous for both speeding up and making transportation safer for individuals," said Michael Goldberg , President of IDO Security Inc. "What he and his team have accomplished is a model for one of the goals we intend to accomplish at IDO: improving the travel experience for millions of individuals by deploying the MagShoe(TM) with public and private transportation and government agencies throughout the world."

"There are two core components at IDO Security that make me very excited to join the board," said John P. Mitola. "The first is the ability of IDO Security's technology to speed and transform the security screening process in a way that provides benefits not only for individuals, but also for transportation agencies around the world. Faster screening generates cost savings. My experience at the toll authority has shown that improving the customer experience while generating cost savings is a profoundly attractive combination. The second component at IDO -- and one that my experience in business and private equity has shown to be truly vital in a business with the potential for rapid growth -- is that IDO Security has a truly innovative technology developed in the harsh incubator of the Israeli security threat environment that meets a real unmet need for improved rapid yet completely thorough screening at a vast range of facilities and venues worldwide."

John Mitola is a managing partner with Kingsdale Capital International, a private equity and capital advisory firm specializing in merchant banking, leveraged buyouts and corporate finance. Mr. Mitola also currently serves as Chairman of the Illinois Toll Highway Authority and was formerly CEO of Electric City Corp from January 2000 to February 2006 . He has over 20 years of experience in the energy and environmental industries, real estate development, venture capital, engineering and construction. Mr. Mitola was appointed to chair the board of the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority by Governor Rod Blagojevich in March 2003 and has served in that capacity since that time. The Illinois Tollway is one of the largest agencies in Illinois and is one of the largest transportation agencies in North America -- with a $600 million annual budget operating over 274 miles of roadway serving the Chicago metro area.
