Public Meeting Slated on Willow Grove/Horsham Joint Interagency Installation Plan Report

March 14, 2008

HARRISBURG , Pa., March 14 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs will hold a public information meeting on the Willow Grove/Horsham Joint Interagency Installation Plan report from 7 - 9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25 , in the community room at the Horsham Township Municipal Building, 1025 Horsham Road, Horsham.

The report, prepared by L. Robert Kimball & Associates, includes a business plan outlining the operations of the joint installation, options for the optimum installation footprint and consideration of numerous infrastructure and planning issues.

In May 2007 , Congress enacted legislation to provide for the Navy to transfer its property at Willow Grove to the Air Force to establish a joint interagency installation for use by the Pennsylvania National Guard, other Department of Defense components, government entities and associated users to support national defense, homeland security and emergency preparedness missions. The Air Force, in turn, has agreed in principle to lease the installation to the commonwealth for operation of the joint installation.

The full report is available on the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs Web site at www.dmva.state.pa.us.
