ARLINGTON, Va., Feb. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Acquisition Solutions, Inc. announced today that 18 Fellows from the Transportation Security Administration's (TSA) Acquisition Learning Program (ALP) have earned the first ever Master's Certificates in Performance-Based Acquisition (PBA).
The program combines intensive classroom training and professional development with on-the-job work experience to prepare new employees (Fellows) to function as strategic business advisors within the TSA acquisition workforce. Upon starting work with the TSA, the Fellows are provided an intensive combination of basic courses in contracting that teach them about government-wide approaches to federal acquisition. They also receive training that is customized to the TSA's specific environment, enabling them to understand and apply those principles more quickly in practice.
The Fellows took courses in the first year of the three-year ALP that also fulfilled the requirements for the PBA Master's Certificate. Acquisition Solutions designed the Master's Certificate program as a professional certification to facilitate mastery of the knowledge, tools, and processes needed to successfully plan, negotiate, and manage performance-based contracts.
