Global Business Continuity Awareness Week Scheduled for March 13-18

Dec. 22, 2004
Week is designed to be place emphasis on corporate security and emergency preparedness

DRI International, a business continuity training and certification provider, is urging corporate leaders and business continuity professionals to participate in Global Business Continuity Awareness Week (GBCAW), March 13-18, 2005.

"Corporate preparedness is a hot-button issue for executives across the nation," explains DRI International Executive Director Tom Mawson. "This event is an opportunity for organizations to re-emphasize why proper planning is critical to overall risk management."

The need is critical. According to DRI International, more than 85 percent of business executives do not consider their companies to be adequately prepared for potential business interruptions.

DRI International is providing resources to help organizations support business continuity at the grassroots level with their employees and in their communities.

The DRI International web site provides a complete online "GBCAW Toolkit" containing ideas for grassroots promotion of this event within companies, special community events, sample press releases, media tips, and more.

"These tools allow business continuity professionals to effectively convey the importance of business continuity within their companies, in their communities, and in the media," Mawson adds. "This week will be a rallying point to demonstrate the unity of our profession and highlight how we are protecting businesses, their customers, and the communities they live in."
