Taco Bell - "Thanks for suing us"

Jan. 28, 2011

Under the headline "Thank you for suing us" Taco Bell Corp. launched a public relations offensive today against a lawsuit claiming its taco meat is more filling than beef.

In full page ads in the New York Times, USA Today, and The Wall Street Journal, Taco Bell President Greg Creed says the company "plans to take legal action against those who have made false claims against our seasoned beef." Read the story on philly.com.

Taco Bell is taking the same aggressive action Wendy's did when there was a false claim that a finger was found in their chili. The crisis management team has kicked in and is actively countering the lawsuit's claim that Taco Bell is using false advertising when it refers to using "seasoned ground beef" or "seasoned beef" in its products.

The action taken by Taco Bell is exactly the action companies need to take to counter claims that have the potential to kill their brand. Good for you Taco Bell.
