It is a sad day as we mourn the passing of Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, remembered most for his powerful efforts on health care and civil rights but most relevant to the public as the last surviving son in the historic Kennedy family. Ironically enough, having just visited The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, just a few hundred feet away from where gunshots rang out over Grassy Knoll and John F. Kennedy was assassinated 46 years ago, this day holds immeasurable importance as history continues to unfold before us.
No words can explain the pain and emptiness that is felt for the loss of Sen. Edward M. Kennedy today nor can we forget, especially for those that witnessed it, the tragic days of and following JFK’s assassination.
