Yet another camera placement idea

Oct. 21, 2008

In my last post, I wrote about how Japan was testing the placement of cameras in vending machines and also emergency call phones. Now, the UK just had to outdo Japan: They're doing a test where they're placing a camera inside a school crossing "lollipop" sign. The camera would film the "drive-throughs" when drivers illegally pass through a school crossing.

It sounds from the story that this would be an automated system (much like red light cameras) to capture driver or vehicle information. Here's the original story on these school crossing cameras from 24Dash.com, reporting on this unique trila in Manchester, England.
