SANS Brisbane 2013

May 20, 2013 - May 25, 2013

Save the dates for our return to Brisbane this May with two of SANS' core courses in information security and penetration testing. Here is what we have planned. Security 401: SANS Security Essentials Bootcamp Style (GIAC: GSEC) - taught by SANS Certified Instructor Mark Hofman. Security Essentials is designed to give anyone interested in network security the skills required to be an effective player in this space. This in-depth, comprehensive course provides essential, up-to-the-minute information, teaches skills required for securing systems and organizations, and equips you with the language and theory of computer security. Security 542: Web App Penetration Testing and Ethical Hacking (GIAC: GWAPT) - taught by SANS Certified Instructor Pieter Danhieux. Testing the security of Web applications is not as simple as just knowing what SQL injection and cross-site scripting mean. Successful testers understand that methodical, thorough testing is the best means of finding the vulnerabilities within the applications. This requires a deep understanding of how Web applications work and what attack vectors are available. This course provides that understanding by examining the various parts of a Web application penetration.
