Joseph Taylor, COO at Panasonic Corporation of North America, has stepped in as president of Panasonic System Solutions Company after the resignation of president J.M. Allain.

July 8, 2009 -- Joseph Taylor, the executive vice president and COO of Panasonic Corporation of North America, has assumed the role of president at Panasonic System Solutions Company, the arm of Panasonic Corporation which handles, among other technologies, physical security and video surveillance. Taylor had served as president and COO of Panasonic Industrial before taking the chief operating officer reigns at Panasonic Corporation of North America in 2007.

The news comes after former Panasonic System Solutions Company President J.M. Allain resigned last week to pursue other interests. Allain had come aboard Panasonic System Solutions Company in July 2008 to replace retiring president Frank DeFina. Allain had previously managed global operations for Duos Technologies.

The company also announced that its Panasonic System Solutions Company unit has forged a partnership whereby Panasonic will be the official partner of the Los Angeles Kings, a National Hockey League team. That partnership is part of an agreement that Panasonic has with AEG, a company that owns the Kings team, as well as their arena, the STAPLES Center (site of this week's Michael Jackson memorial) and the L.A. LIVE entertainment district in Los Angeles. As part of that agreement, Panasonic technologies are integrated in AEG-owned properties in the United States; these "powered by Panasonic" product showcase integrations are part of what the company calls the "Panasonic Experience."

Panasonic System Solutions Company produces an array of business technologies, ranging from the firm's security technologies like wide dynamic range cameras, digital video recorders and the i-Pro surveillance cameras that transmit video over a network, to digital signage, retail/hospitality point-of-sale solutions, and broadcast and sound equipment.
