ANSI
The American National Standards Institute aids in the creation and implementation of business norms and guidelines across numerous industries, and organizes the ANSI Homeland Security Standards Panel.

ASIS International
One of the world largest security organizations, ASIS provides member education and helps develop industry wide standards and administers three certification programs for security professionals, including the CPP, PSP and PCI programs.

CSAA
The Central Station Alarm Association represents providers of UL-Listed and/or FM-Approved Central Station protection services and works to create industry standards, which improve the performance of monitoring stations.

DHS
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is responsible for implementing domestic security strategies and policies, including the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). DHS assigns grant money and also sets requirements for security at critical infrastructure.

ICC
The International Code Council is an association dedicated to developing building and fire codes for use in constructing residential and commercial structures.

IEEE

ISC is the organization that offers several information security certifications, including CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) SSCP - (Systems Security Certified Practitioner) and CAP (Certification and Accreditation Professional).

NBFAA
The National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA) is the largest professional trade organization in the U.S. for the security/alarm industry; it establishes standards for those who manufacture, install and monitor alarm systems.

NFPA
The National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) is an international non-profit group that seeks to reduce the risk of fire hazards through the creation of codes and standards. The agency establishes codes on nearly all fire prevention apparatuses, including fire extinguishers, fire sprinklers, and fire detection and notification systems.

NICET
The National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) is an examining body which administers certification programs commonly required by state and local jurisdictions for those in the fire protection field, and now video surveillance.

NIST
The National Institute of Standards and Technology is a federal agency within the U.S. Department of Commerce responsible for assisting various types of businesses in developing industry-wide standards

OSHA
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is the government agency responsible for enforcing standards and regulations related to the safety of workers in all industries across the U.S

SEC
The Security Executive Council is a member organization for senior security and risk executives from corporations and government agencies responsible for corporate and/or IT security programs. As part of their goals, the SEC is building tools to help security executives comply to security related legislation and regulations, including a library available to the public.

UL
Underwriters Laboratory (UL) is privately-owned product safety organization that develops standards and testing procedures for various types of products, including fire and security apparatuses.
