The Security Industry Association, in conjunction with the International Association of Airport & Seaport Police (InterPort Police), announced this week that it will be hosting the Security Week Gala in November in New York City.
The event is scheduled to take place from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Nov. 2 at the Lighthouse on Chelsea Pier 61.
Two awards - the Fred V. Morrone Memorial 9/11 Award, which recognizes individuals that have made significant contributions to terror prevention efforts, and the George R. Lippert Memorial Award, which is presented to an individual for their contributions to the security industry and SIA – will be given out at the gala. Steve Roth, CEO of Tri-Ed/Northern Video Distribution will receive the 2011 Lippert Award.
"The gala awards dinner is one of the security industry’s biggest nights," said Rand Price, chief operating officer of SIA. "Not only is it is a fun, elegant and festive occasion, it also provides an opportunity for executives in electronic physical security to connect with decision makers in our industry."
