Protection 1 has acquired nearly 3,000 residential customer accounts from Provo, Utah-based ICON Home Security, the company announced on Tuesday.
"When we find an opportunity to grow our market share that makes sense, we’re going to take it," Protection 1 President and CEO Timothy J. Whall said in a statement. "ICON management had been looking to exit the industry and wanted to choose a partner who would provide their customers with highest level of service. Protection 1 is that choice. We work tirelessly to provide all of our accounts with superior service, and that is exactly what ICON wanted for their customers."
Protection 1 Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer Jamie Haenggi said that the company will be sending out a mailing to these customers, which will include new yard signs, decals and special welcome offers. "Our teams will also be following up with phone calls to ensure we proactively answer any questions or concerns these new customers may have," she added.
The purchase is the company’s second acquisition this year. In February, the company took control of more than 2,000 commercial security accounts from Sting Alarm.
