The Women’s Security Council, a networking organization for women in the security industry, recently announced that it is launching a "Women of the Year" awards program that will recognize top female professionals in the industry across a variety of categories.
According to a statement, the award winners will be honored during ISC West 2012 in Las Vegas next March.
In addition, the organization said that the nominees will be judged based upon the leadership qualities that they have exhibited in the industry and at their respective companies, as well as how they’ve given back to the "women’s business community by mentoring or supporting other women in the security market."
"WSC provides opportunities for networking and relationship-building that can propel women to greater heights in their careers," said Rhianna Daniels, managing director of CompassPR, and a WSC Founding Committee member. "The WSC Women of the Year awards program spotlights the outstanding women in the security industry who are demonstrated leaders in the field and those who are emerging as the future of the industry."
