The Electronic Security Association announced on Wednesday that it has been named a member of the Emergency Services Sector Coordinating Council.
The council is an independent and unfunded coalition of organizations that represent the emergency services sector and was created by the Department of Homeland Security in 2004. Other ESSCC members include the Central Station Alarm Association, National Association of State Fire Marshals, International Association of Chiefs of Police, and the International Association of Emergency Managers.
According to a statement, the ESA’s role on the council will be to represent the life safety and security industry and provide general direction to the group.
ESA Director or Government Relations John Chwat will serve as the association’s representative on the council, while Executive Director Merlin Guilbeau will serve as the alternate.
