BAYTOWN, Texas --

Three teenagers have confessed to setting a fire that damaged a Baytown church, investigators said.

Chambers County sheriff's deputies said Brian Marines, 19, and two teenagers, ages 15 and 16, have been charged with first-degree arson.

Detectives said the group vandalized Living Hope Church on state Highway 146 on Friday, then went back early Monday and set the fire.

The teens said they wanted to pawn items they stole from the church to get a TV, investigators said.

Deputies said some stolen items were found in the suspects' homes.

Surveillance video of the incident on Friday was destroyed in the fire, officials said.

The fire caused $1.5 million damage to the church.
