Business leaders voice concerns over municipal monitoring at IESA event

Following an event hosted last week by the Illinois Electronic Security Association (IESA), State Sen. Pamela Althoff and State Rep. Michael Tryon have indicated that they will try to facilitate talks between the IESA and fire service leaders in McHenry County communities that have implemented municipal monitoring policies.

The event, which was held on July 15, was attended by more than 60 people and featured a half-hour presentation and an hour of discussion between McHenry County business leaders and the two state lawmakers.

In addition, the McHenry business community has decided to write and then promote an amendment to the municipal monitoring ordinance that will allow businesses to have a choice of vendors, according to statement issued by the IESA.
