Xtralis acquires HeiTel Digital Video

Move brings Xtralis into remove video monitoring industry

July 5, 2011 -- Xtralis announced today that it had acquired Germany's HeiTel Digital Video. The purchase, said Xtralis CEO Samir Samhouri, brings Xtralis into the remote video market. HeiTel manufactures a number of video transmission, viewing and recording solutions, including products used for accessing video at central monitoring stations. The company will operate as a separate business entity, although owned by Xtralis.

Samhouri said that remote video monitoring was a fast-growing area and that HeiTel's solutions, much like Xtralis' ADPRO detection solutions, were being adopted by central stations. He said the acquisition allows Xtralis to offer video verification, analytics and perimeter protection.

"The addition of HeiTel will help the Xtralis group of companies excel and expand in the delivery and monitoring of its leading early detection technology; it will also enhance the companies geographic and market segment reach," Samhouri said. "HeiTel's product offering, channels and geographic presence complements the Xtralis ADPRO offering. Together ADPRO with HeiTel will have a dominant position in the markets they serve."

Samhouri said that both companies would continue to use their existing sales channels.

"We see no significant overlap between ADPRO and HeiTel and we intend to maintain all the products, channels, locations and talents that HeiTel has worked on building over the last 20 years," he said."

Besides the ADPRO motion detection/intrusion detection solutions, Xtralis also offers a number of smoke detection technologies (VESDA and ICAM) as well as its ASIM traffic detection technology.
