The Security Network hosts Global Security Challenge regionals

Companies to present their respective security technologies before a panel of judges


The Security Network (TSN), a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering innovation in security technologies, announced this week that it is hosting the America West Regional Finals of the Global Security Challenge, which is a competition designed to identify best-of-breed counter-terrorism solutions.

According to a statement, nine regional finalists will present their technologies to a panel of judges in a closed session on Sept. 27 in San Diego. The judges will pick two winners to be announced later that afternoon.

The Global Security Challenge, which is supported by DARPA, the Technology Support Working Group (TSWG) and others awards $500,000 to winners in start-up and small-to-medium enterprise categories.

Among the regional finalists competing in the start-up category include CipherCloud,Exo5, Incapsula, It’s Me! Security, and Vaporsens. Those competing in the small to medium-sized enterprises category include Eureka Aerospace, International Aviation & Business Security Solutions, Predictive Models, and SA Photonics.
