WILKESBORO, N.C. --

Copper wire valued at $12,000 that was loaded on a construction trailer was stolen Friday from the Tyson chicken plant.

According to a police report, several workers at the plant had loaded the wire onto the trailer on Thursday.

A security guard told police that someone had called on May 25 asking if she could let him onto the lot.

The guard said the man told her to tell the other guards that he was simply there to change a light bulb on one of the trailers.

In addition to the stolen copper, the stolen trailer is valued at $3,500. Several light fixtures worth $1,200 were also taken, according to the report.

So far, no arrests have been made.
