Legrand enters agreement to acquire Middle Atlantic Products

Electrical and digital buildings infrastructure specialist Legrand announced Monday that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Middle Atlantic Products, a New Jersey-based provider of audio and video solutions for residential, commercial, broadcast, and security applications.

According to a statement, Middle Atlantic will operate as an independent business within Legrand after the deal closes. Middle Atlantic Products President Mike Baker will also lead a new Commercial AV division for Legrand in North America.

Legrand says the acquisition will meet its objective to "establish a leadership position" in markets that require audio/video infrastructure solutions.

"The complementary strengths of these businesses, and the fit of the product offerings will be unmatched by any other supplier in this industry," John Selldorff, president and CEO of Legrand, North America said in the statement. "The combined leadership team is looking forward to making a real difference to the installation community, and the entire AV market, now and for the future."
