Shane Clary named winner of CAA’s George A. Weinstock Award

The California Alarm Association announced last week that Dr. Shane M. Clary of Bay Alarm Company has been named as the winner of the association’s George A. Weinstock Award.

The award, which recognizes lifetime achievement and service to the industry, will be presented later this year at the 2011 CAA Winter Convention and Tribute Dinner in San Francisco.

According to a statement, Clary entered the industry as a dispatcher in 1974 and is currently the vice president of codes and standards compliance for Bay Alarm Company in Pacheco, Calif. In addition, Clary is a founding vice president of the WBFAA UATC apprentice training program and is vice chair of the Electronic Security Association. He is also actively involved with the National Fire Protection Association and is chair of the NFPA 72 Technical Committee.

"Shane is a great example of the quality of the volunteers who have contributed to the growth of our industry," said CAA President John Hopper. "For more than 30 years he has been a leader in the development of standards and codes that promote public safety and contribute to the overall well being of our communities."
