Anderson, Ind. to enforce alarm ordinance

Residents and business owners in Anderson, Indiana can expect to begin paying fines for excessive false alarms as the city will begin enforcement of its new alarm ordinance on January 1, according to a story published by the Anderson Free Press.

The ordinance allows for only false alarm per year free of penalty, after which the fine will be $50 for the second false alarm, $100 for the third, $200 for the fourth and $300 for every false call thereafter. City officials insist the ordinance is only intended to reduce the number of false alarms and not to generate revenue.
