ATLANTA, Dec. 4, 2009 - A Chinese court has ruled in favor of ADT in a patent lawsuit filed against ZhenTai Science & Technology, which the company accused of infringing upon its Sensormatic Ultra•Max anti-theft technology, according to a statement issued on Thursday.
The ruling prohibits ZhenTai from making, using or selling the labels in question and also requires the company to pay damages to ADT.
Earlier this year, a U.S. court found The Tag Company liable for also infringing upon Sensormatic technology patents.
“We are pleased with the court ruling and the confidence it should give customers that they can continue to rely on the integrity and high performance of ADT’s Sensormatic anti-theft solutions,” said ADT Vice President Jeff Bean in a prepared statement. “We are committed to protecting the source tagging supply chain and retailer’s investment in our solutions.”
