Illinois-based Stanley Convergent Security Solutions announced last week that it has purchased Sonitrol of North Georgia; a move that company officials believe will help it increase its market share in the state.
A leading provider of audio verified electronic security systems, the Sonitrol Corporation was purchased by Stanley CSS in 2008 for $275 million. The acquisition of Sonitrol of North Georgia mostly includes the company’s commercial accounts, which primarily consists of businesses in the property management, banking, education, restaurant, distribution and local government sectors.
According to Tony Byerly, president, North America, for Stanley CSS, the acquisition is a “natural fit” for the company.
“The Sonitrol of North Georgia acquisition is a bolt-on that gives us additional Sonitrol presence and makes us even stronger for existing and potential customers in the audio verification market,” he said. “We’re excited to be adding Sonitrol of North Georgia’s accomplished group of customers to the Stanley family.”
