DHS ends NSEERS program

According to a story published last week by the Wall Street Journal, the Department of Homeland Security has suspended the use of its National Security Entry-Exit Registration System.

The program, which was implemented shortly after Sept. 11, required individuals from more than 20 countries to register with the federal government when arriving and departing from the country.

The DHS is reportedly ending the program due to developments in automated technology that have made it unnecessary.
