ATLANTA, Nov. 5, 2009 - Video analytics software developer Agent Video Intelligence (Agent Vi) announced this week that it has been awarded a contract to supply over 1,000 video analytics channels as part of a surveillance upgrade project covering three lines of an Asian subway system.
According to a statement issued by the company, the surveillance upgrade project, which is being led by UK-based COE Group, includes the installation of several thousand cameras. Over a thousand of those cameras will be integrated with Vi System, Agent Vi’s analytics platform
"This deal emphasizes the important role of video analytics in large scale installations" said Ariel Frischoff, Agent Vi’s vice president of sales for Europe, Middle East and Africa & Asia-Pacific regions. “Video Analytics is the only practical solution to handle this many video streams in parallel, allowing efficient responses to safety and security incidents, as they emerge."
