Video solutions manufacturer Axis Communications announced Monday that it has opened a new configuration and logistics center in Atlanta, Ga.
According to a statement issued by the company, the new facility will improve the supply of products to distributors in North American and South America, as well as allow it to offer enhanced services closer to many of its’ customers.
“We will be able to serve our customers in the North and South American markets via more efficient transportation, which will also reduce the environmental impact,” Axis Vice President of Supply Chain Operations Per Adelroth said in the statement. “Going forward, products from our manufacturers will be transported to Atlanta in bulk packaging, where final configuration and individual packaging will take place before being sent out to our distribution partners. This will shrink the transport volume by more than half, reducing the environmental impact and costs.”
