According to a report in the Jonesboro Sun newspaper, the Hoxie, Ark., school district will be installing 180 cameras to boost school security.
The project is said to be worth close to $500,000 and was awarded to Stanley Security this past Monday. According to the newspaper's report, the project is being federally funded. Some of the work is said to have already begun, and most of the work will be completed in time to have the cameras ready by the start of school this August 2009. The cameras will be both in public areas like hallways as well as school classrooms.
