Michael O'Neal has been named president of Linear.
Residential security systems and access control products manufacturer Linear announced Wednesday that it has named Michael O’Neal as its new president, succeeding Dan Stottlemyre.
Stottlemyre, who has been with the Linear organization for 23 years and has served as the company’s president since 2005, will take over as vice chairman of the Linear Group.
O’Neal joins Linear from Gibson Guitar, where he served as president of the company’s North American operations. He has also served as CEO of several other high-tech firms including Philips Accessories and Peripherals and Gemini Industries. O’Neal holds both a bachelors and masters degree in political science from The State University of New Jersey.
"This is a dynamic industry, with tremendous growth opportunities, and I am proud to take on this important role as leader of a company with such a strong and exciting history," O’Neal said in a statement. "Linear’s spirit and ability to hone in on market needs is crucial for any successful company today, and it’s a culture I embrace."
