Schneider Electric, the parent company of surveillance solutions manufacturer Pelco, is considering making a takeover offer for Tyco International, Bloomberg reported Monday.
According to the report, Schneider is working with bankers to help it weigh the potential acquisition, but sources say no deal is imminent.
Spokesmen for neither Schneider Electric nor Tyco would comment on the matter.
If the deal does come to fruition, France-based Schneider Electric would become the largest maker of security systems in the world, Bloomberg noted. However, analysts say any deal of this magnitude would face significant hurdles.
