SIA names new directors

Hirsch and Axis representatives join executive committee

The Security Industry Association (SIA), an association representing security product manufacturers and service providers, has named the new members of its board of directors and its executive committee. The association elected seven new members to its board, bring expertise from a variety of leading companies in the industry. The members of the board of directors serve two-year terms, and are part of a 16-person board.

New members of the board include the following:

• Denis Hebert, president and CEO, HID Global, and executive vice president, ASSA ABLOY
• Mark Barry, president, GE Security (Americas)
• Jim Gingo, president, TransTech Systems
• Steve Van Till, president and CEO, Brivo Systems
• Christopher Gerace, president, Bosch Security Systems
• Kenneth LaMarca, vice president, Sony Electronics
• Scott Schaffer, senior vice president, Pelco

In addition to the seven new members of the board, SIA also elected to new members to the association's executive committee. Fredrik Nilsson, general manager, Americas, for Axis Communications, was elected to serve as secretary. Rob Zivney, vice president of marketing for Hirsch Electronics Corporation, was elected as treasurer. Both positions are for two years.

"As SIA's membership evolves to reflect the marketplace, so has our board, and I'm very excited about our new directors and the knowledge, skills and experience they will bring to our organization," said Richard Chace, the CEO of SIA. "All of our new directors represent the vanguard of the security industry, and their strategic counsel will guide us for the next few years."
